We are so excited to offer an opportunity to become a part of Deafinitely Youth Theatre where you can:

  • Explore your creativity in our deaf-led drama workshops
  • Develop your skills and perform in an end of term production
  • Enjoy extra activities like theatre trips and backstage tours for free
  • Achieve Arts Award with us in Bronze, Silver or Gold

Deafinitely Youth is for anyone aged 14 – 21, deaf, hard of hearing, hearing or BSL/SSE users and is completely free! We recommend you attend as many sessions as possible to get the most from the experience.

Our next DYT workshops will run every two weeks from October 2022 – February 2023. Here you can build up your acting skills with a theatre professional, before making a show to perform during the February half term! The show will be performed on a real theatre stage, with your friends and family in the audience.

All DYT sessions are free to attend and will run from 11am - 4pm at the Old Diorama Arts Centre, London before moving to a theatre venue to rehearse and perform the end of term show. Timings during rehearsal week and performances may vary!

Everyone who joins Deafinitely Youth can do an Arts Award certificate. Where from the UK’s arts leadership qualification. This is a high level which is the similar to A-Level as well.

Although DYT is completely FREE to attend, we ask for a one-off £5 membership which will provide all participants with a DYT 2022 t-shirt - payment will be arranged once you are accepted onto the term.

Safeguarding and our promise

Deafinitely Theatre has a safeguarding policy which means we will always look after anybody taking part in our activity. We want everyone to be kept safe from harm and to have good wellbeing.

Our workshop leader will talk a bit more about Safeguarding on the first day and you will all agree, as a group, a "code of conduct" which means what behaviour you will all be happy with and respect in sessions.

If during DYT, you notice something that worries you or makes you feel uncomfortable, you can talk to the workshop leaders in the sessions straightaway.

OR if you want to talk to a member of Deafinitely Staff we have 2 nominated safeguarding people who can help:

Our full safeguarding policy is on the website here: https://www.deafinitelytheatre.co.uk/safeguarding-policy
