Consultancy services

Our vision is a world where theatre is accessible for all and deaf people are a valued part of the national theatre landscape. If you share this vision, then we can help you achieve it.

Deafinitely Theatre provides bespoke training and consultancy packages including:

  • Deaf Awareness Training for theatre companies, venues and other organisations
  • Deaf-led CYP (Children and Young People) workshops and sessions
  • Consultancy on deaf-led casting
  • Deaf-led directing
  • BSL translation
  • Deaf-led marketing and production
  • Promotion of accessible productions through our well-established deaf networks
  • Our experienced senior management team can offer workshops, advice and support on business strategy, fundraising, finances & budgeting and general management whether your work may be mainstream or accessible.

We have established ourselves as the go-to place for deaf consultancy services and have provided consultancy packages for Bush Theatre, Young Vic, Spotlight, Headlong, The Park Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe, RSC and Channel 4 to name but a few.

“It was really interesting to think of theatre and ourselves in the context of visual storytelling and ultimately it gave the production a whole extra layer of context”

Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on deaf casting consultancy and deaf awareness training

“Deafinitely spent a huge amount of time on the phone with me running through my many questions about support for Deaf Actors through a rehearsal and production process, SLI, rates, Access to Work and so on. All this helped us to be able to commit both artistically and financially to employ a Deaf Actor on our production, which we now have. Having Deafinitely Theatre there to help was invaluable.”

Liz Eddy - Headlong Theatre on deaf casting consultancy

“We’ve worked with Deafinitely Theatre for many years, and the work they do, and the support they give is absolutely amazing."

Bryony Parkes - NDCS

"Deafinitely Theatre was so helpful in giving us professional business advice and constructive guidance"

Jacob Stevens - Old Diorama Arts Centre
