Volunteers are an important and valued part of the Deafinitely Theatre team. Opportunities are open to deaf and hearing people over 18 years of age. The criteria for volunteers is some experience of using sign language. Different events require different levels of British Sign Language knowledge. Generally, we ask that you sign to a qualified level 2 standard, or have an equivalent experience that allows you to sign to a high standard.

We hope that you enjoy volunteering with us and feel a full part of our team.

There are many benefits to volunteering. Connecting with the deaf community, practising your sign language skills and meeting like-minded people who are interested in theatre and access.

If you are volunteering for a Deafinitely Theatre production, you will be entitled to 1 free ticket to see the performance, provided that there is an available unsold seat on your prefered date.

This agreement tells you what you can expect from us, and what we hope from you. We aim to be flexible, so please let us know if you would like to make any changes and we will do our best to accommodate them.

We, Deafinitely Theatre will do our best:
  • to introduce you to how the organisation works and your role in it.
