We are now accepting applicants for: Theatre Design - Set, Costume and Projection Theatre Design - Set, Costume and Projection We’re sorry to share the news that the Hub Behind The Scenes course will be postponed until further notice. Given the uncertainty of the current situation, Deafinitely Theatre have taken the decision to postpone. While we’re disappointed not to be able to run the workshop now, public health of course comes first and we will be providing the course as planned at a later date. We will be in touch directly with those booked to attend. Dates: Tuesday 5th May Tuesday 12th May Tuesday 26th May Tuesday 2nd June Participants must commit to the full course of 4 weeks. Time: 6.00pm - 9.00pm Price: £15 Early Bird/ £20 Full Price If you are on low income and can not afford the course fee's, a limited number of bursaries are available to provide this course for free. Please complete the bursary form Location: Old Diorama Arts Centre In this short course, led by Paul Burgess, you will learn how the designer starts to work on a production. We will explore the early stages of the design process for set, costume and projection including creative captioning. You will learn how to unlock your creativity using practical exercises under the guidance of Paul Burgess. Paul is a freelance theatre designer who works regularly with Deafinitely Theatre. This course has something for everyone - whether you are a beginner or have some experience. BOOKING CLOSED Teacher PAUL BURGESS Paul has designed at numerous venues in the UK, including Shakespeare’s Globe, The Royal Exchange (Manchester), Glasgow Citizens, Colchester Mercury and Birmingham Rep. He has also designed for venues in Hanoi, Islamabad, Vienna, Mumbai and New York. He is co-artistic director of Scale and artistic director of Daedalus Theatre Company. He has taught at various universities, including Goldsmiths and the National College of Arts in Pakistan, as well as working widely in youth arts. He co-designed Deafinitely's production of Two, then went on to design A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Something Else, Grounded, Contractions, 4.48 Psychosis and Horrible Histories: Dreadful Deaf.
