The Ritual

10 March - 12 May 2012

Deafinitely Youth Theatre will perform The Ritual by Samir Yazbek for the National Theatre Connections Festival at Soho Theatre.

The Ritual is about a secret organisation that has positioned itself as the enemy of love. Its members must manufacture relationships devoid of affection, built to create disappointment and undo concepts of trust.

At weekly meetings, the organisation recount their past conquests and plan their next. While one member struggles to find his next conquest, another battles true emotional attachment. With a maniacal leader and the constant threat of punishment, can anyone escape the ritual?

This provocative psychological thriller, translated from its original Brazilian Portuguese, reflects on ideas of love, trust and letting yourself go.

After two successful performances in March, the group will perform one more time at Soho Theatre on Saturday 12th May at 7pm.

Tickets £7 / £5. Phone box office on 020 7478 0100 or book ONLINE. During the same show the Oval House youth theatre group will also be performing The Grandfathers. This is a hearing youth group but their play will be captioned.

N.B. There is some sexual language and mild swearing within the play.

The play will be in British Sign Language with captions.
